• Absolutely NO minors.

  • Length: Highly varies, I try not to go over 3 paragraph for normal replies. Starter and initial reply to starter can be longer, but try not to go too much over in the regular replies.

  • On that note: absolutely do not feel forced to write as much as I do. I have been roleplaying for 15+ years, and type a lot on my phone. My replies can get pretty long at times, but I do not expect you to match me exactly for length.

  • I am absolutely okay with exploring our characters together! I am also okay with wol/npc! I just request that if you want me to be an npc for YOUR wol, you do the same for MY wol; so we can both maximize our enjoyment!

  • On notes of NPCs: I am fairly confident in writing for G'raha Tia!

  • My wol absolutely needs a connection if you plan on romancing her. Working with NPCs is a little easier, but there still has to be an established connection before she'd even consider it.

  • More to come as needed.

History

Kiana Li Mewrilah, daughter born to Mikh'a and Senah Mewrilah, has always lived a fairly nomadic lifestyle; her mother choosing to leave the clan to travel with her father. While she is unsure of her birthplace, though suspects she may have been born in Meracydia, it matters not as she is more accustomed to traveling than making a 'home'.
Not much is known about her younger years, as she is not often one to discuss that, but she has on occasion shared with others that she was taught to gather from the land to get ingredients needed to make her own food, as well as some minor fighting skills to keep herself from harm's way.
One habit she developed at quite a young age was to climb trees as high as she could, continuing this into her adulthood. Up until she left for Eorzea, she often would travel with her parents barefoot as to have a better feeling for the land or climbing area beneath her feet. She would often claim it helped her with hunting, fishing, and climbing. She began to learn how to cook at an early age alongside her gathering foodstuffs for meals, always being told to respect and honor the land where they make their shelter or take their food from. Her family always tried to leave an area as similar as they initially found it to respect the local flora and fauna.
While she has a very good relationship with her parents, she has not been able to see them since she first began her solo journey; becoming the Warrior of Light/Darkness definitely put a hindrance in seeing them.In her travels, she had heard of a city-state in Eorzea called Limsa Lominsa; a place she decided to travel to in order to study the arcane arts. The ride took her by boat from Tural, and, while she is not very fond of the warm weather usually associated with sea travel, she's always loved being on the open ocean and feeling the salty wind in her face. Once she arrived in Limsa Lominsa, she began to study as an arcanist and eventually became a summoner. Her biggest comfort during the hard trials she faced was her carbuncle whom she affectionately named Bubble. She would often sit and talk with him to get things off of her chest and he would comfort her in the best way he could. Later, when she began to learn conjurer and eventually white mage, Bubble would often stay out to assist her or just be a source of comfort.Due to her nomadic lifestyle, Kiana closed herself off from strangers at a fairly young age. It takes quite a while for someone to get her to open up, with few exceptions. Though this began out of a need to keep herself from getting attached and later hurt when she met others and then left to a new land, it has stayed well into her adult life. Being within Eorzea, she has not quite adapted to the fact she will continue to see similar faces now and again.
This kept her from getting close to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn for quite some time, tending to not think of herself truly as one of them, but as someone they needed for temporary assistance. This often led her to avoiding sleeping inside the Waking Sands, and, for some time, The Rising Stones; instead choosing to nap on the roof or in a tree nearby.
Despite the way she has kept herself closed off from others, she isn't particularly rude or mean about it, rather she does not go out of her way to initiate something. If someone asks for her help, she'll help them without a second thought. In the beginning, as she's still so used to not seeing people very often if at all again, it confuses her a bit to have the same person come by for help or simply to greet her, but she's still willing to help whenever she is needed. This ends up with her being more of a listener than a talker, more of a giver than a taker, fairly selfless but doesn't really discuss herself with anyone.
When she does finally open up fully and truly to someone, her emotions are so easy to read through her eyes, ears, and tail. She gets fairly annoyed that she's unable to hide her emotions from others, but it's not something she can consciously control. She, in a sense, wears her heart on her sleeve in her interactions with those she loves and cares about. She isn't so open that just anyone can come and break her down, but she isn't afraid to be affectionate and doting on those she loves.
Her love language is often translated into smaller acts of affection. Hand holding? Bumping her forehead against theirs? Licking their cheek? Sleeping in their lap? Grabbing their arm to let them know she wants attention? Just small fairly domestic things, but they know that to let herself be this open around them means that she truly trusts the person she has let see this side of her. This can also include sharing her berry stash or baking/cooking for someone.
She absolutely has cat like behaviors, but no one really gets to see them until she's opened up more with them, which makes her that much more embarrassed as she doesn't like to show them. She can and will purr, but will try to hide it if you point it out. Don't try to pet her unless you're close or she will retaliate.
When she was younger, she heard some miqo'te in the area she was staying in sound offended by being compared to cats; that in turn made her think she needed to hide her "cat-like" traits. This is why she tries to avoid letting her emotion show through her ears and tail as best as she can, but it's particularly hard to do so when they have a mind of their own... (Her tail will thump loudly against her seat when she's annoyed. Her ears lay flat when she's angry. etc.)

A Realm RebornIn her mid-twenties, Kiana had decided to begin her own adventure. Wanting to study magic, she chose to try her hand at the arcane arts by heading to Limsa Lominsa. It was then she joined the Arcanist's Guild in hopes to eventually become a Summoner.
Through her training, she began doing small tasks for the people of La Noscea. As talk of her deeds began to spread, she was asked by more and more people for assistance. Due to the beliefs her parents shared with her growing up, she always found it hard to say no to others. When she was growing up, her family would travel and often times found themselves in the homes of others. They taught her to give assistance whenever one can as to not take what has been offered for granted.
Eventually smaller quests for help turned to bigger help and it continued to grow until she was approached by Y'shtola from the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. She had no issue with giving them her assistance, but there was a reluctance to join them fully. She was so used to doing things for herself, and of course others, so she didn't feel like she could fit with a group such as them. She agreed to meet them and her initial thoughts were fairly on point when she saw how connected they all seemed to be. Still, she agreed to help them with the primal problem that was plaguing Eorzea.
Despite Minfilia offering for her to sleep in the Waking Sands, Kiana often was found sleeping on the roof, the roof of a building nearby, or in a tree somewhat further away. It began to be a common sight for one of the Scions to be carrying the sleeping Miqo'te, knowing wherever she had been was surely not the safest option.
While she overall does what is needed, there's still a heavy lack of true connection with the others or anyone outside of the Scions. The first true sign of concern for her companions could be seen in her working so hard to save Thancred after he was possessed by Lahabrea, but that wasn't a conscious decision.

Heavensward under construction. After saving the world from the brink of a new calamity, Kiana would find herself in a new and unsettling situation. She, along with Tataru and Alphinaud, found themselves finding shelter in the freezing Ishgard.
Not only did she find herself accused of a heinous crime, but she was suddenly thrust out of an area she was just beginning to become comfortable in.
Throughout most of her time there and dealing with the Heavensward, Haurchefant was an amazing help with everything. He and Alphinaud helped keep her from pushing herself too far, and out of everyone she had met so far in Eorzea Haurchefant was the only person to get her to open up-- even if only a bit at first. He seemed to be able to read her in ways that she hadn't sensed since she left her parents, which ended up becoming a great comfort to her. Though he would tease her of her lack of warm clothes, he enjoyed seeing her slowly coming out of her shell.
Rather than wait for her to do something and fix it later, he would nip it in the bud when he could. Sneaking off in the middle of the night? One of two reasons: finding her own food or deciding to sleep elsewhere. Neither of which were good enough reasons to him, so if he couldn't stop her he would make sure someone was there to do so. He saw through the front of "self-reliance" as what it was: avoiding letting herself try to get too comfortable in one place or with others.
More to add
Kiana nearly went into a murderous rage after Haurchefant was killed, only being stopped by her own overwhelming mixture of emotions nearly paralyzing her when she went to go off on her own. The angry inferno mixed with the tsunami of sorrow and suffocating heartbreak left her a sobbing mess in bed, barely keeping her from rushing off to do something that could have been fatal...

Stormblood under construction. This was an unusual time for Kiana overall. While she was eager and more than willing to help any and everyone she came to, her world was just slowly coming back together. It hadn't quite settled down since her situation with the Heavensward. It was during this time that Alisaie and Kiana grew close, however, the former becoming attached quickly to the miqo'te where Kiana took a bit longer to return those feelings of friendshp. Kiana often would compliment the young elezen and recognize the small things she did for people.During her fights with Zenos, he had almost cut through the necklace that her parents had given her. The necklace was fairly simple: a silver chain with a silver medallion that had carved the symbol of Menphina on it. It was something she had never taken off since she was very young, but nearly losing it caused her to stop wearing it from that point on. She was too scared at the possibility of it being destroyed to feel confident wearing it again.

Shadowbringers under construction. When the sudden dizzy spells began to hit and her fellow Scions started passing out around her, Kiana began to become anxious and concerned. She had already lost several things in her life, and the fact they had no idea what was going on was what making it worse. As soon as she properly met with the Exarch and he explained how he planned to summon her, she agreed without a second thought. Her first interactions with Lyna were definitely on the wrong foot, but she did feel a strong maternal feeling over the likely older and much taller viera.Kiana first found Alisaie, doing her best to comfort the girl after the situation she had just gone through. Alphinaud was next, which is where her disdain for Vauthry started. While she felt rather affectionate for Dulia-Chai, the whole of Eulmore was heavily influenced by Vauthry and his sick ways... Being there highly made her uncomfortable after the first visit she had. The group soon fought and defeated the Light Warden, helping the people who were misplaced by the sudden attack.Meeting with Thancred was a lovely surprise, but what caught her off guard the most was meeting Minfilia of the first. While she does not openly act like a mother with Lyna, Kiana finds herself treating Minfilia like her own daughter. It was definitely an odd experience for Minfilia, but she was very welcoming in the new sensations and feelings. It was some point after meeting up with Urianger again, in which she excitedly jumped up to hug him, that she realized just how much the Scions meant to her. It was then she decided to stop hiding her feelings and just... allow herself to feel them and let them show. It was what Haurchefant would have wanted, she was sure. They soon defeated the Light Warden Titania, and she was thankful for Feo Ul's willingness to take her place as the new King Titania. It didn't help that not long after, she met Emet-Selch, ascian. She knew that she should hate him for everything he and his people did, but... There was an unknown connection to the strange man, one that compelled her to try and get closer to him. He was annoying, but despite everything, she felt a deep sense of love and closeness. She wanted to know him better and she wanted to be near him... He felt it too, but he was too caught up in his beliefs and his ways to let his guard down. They soon found their way into the Rak'tika Forest, having a rather interesting meeting when they first arrived. Between meeting up with Y'shtola again and learning about Emet-Selch's and the ascians' world before what they came to know as normal... the whole trip was rather interesting. There was a sense of longing and sadness when he explained the beautiful drawings on the walls, the feeling that she had somehow known something of this at one point... At some point long ago...Despite his attempts to avoid it, Emet-Selch ended up letting Kiana grow close to him. He couldn't stop himself from allowing her to curl up with him on night's she'd crawl to the roof when she had trouble sleeping. It reminded him of days long past, but he would try and avoid letting himself get close. He knew what would happen and he knew what he was going to do in the end. He couldn't... wouldn't let himself get hurt again. She and Minfilia soon found themselves traveling to meet with Minfilia of the source at the spot that she halted the flood. She had no words to say really, initially worried that the Minfilia of the first would be... gone. She knew how much the young girl wanted to help them protect and fight for her world, so much so that she would risk her own existence if it helped. She wanted to hope for the best outcome, but was worried over whether that would actually be given to her. It wasn't until she saw the young girl again, eyes no longer glowing and hair vibrant like a roaring fire that she realized this girl was given another chance to live life. To live as her own person. It was honestly all she could have asked for, having been the biggest one to remind the other Scions that this girl was not Minfilia and certainly not the Minfilia they knew. She was her own person who deserved to be treated as such. When Thancred gave her the name 'Ryne', Kiana was so happy. Not only was it a beautiful and fitting name, but it was the final step towards the girl's future.Their next visit to Eulmore was another rather unpleasant situation, in which they found out Vauthry was the last light warden. What happened after it was found out is what truly surprised her. Everyone coming together to help and fight for their world made her feel happier than she had felt in a long time. She realized that part of why she was so emotional was not only that the people of the first didn't treat her like some sort of all powerful hero that they could rely on for anything, but the fact that without a second thought these people realized that they were just that... people. They didn't thrust the task upon her nor did they fight over how they could work together... They simply... did. The people who had known only luxury were working on the same playing field as the people who had lived in poverty... It no longer mattered whether they were wealthy or poor or even where they came from... They all came together to do something for the future of their shard and world. The light soon became unbearable after she defeated Vauthry, however. The night disappeared and she found herself struggling to keep herself together. While there was no obvious physical changes, her skin would glow slightly in darkened rooms, along with her eyes. The trip the group took to the Tempest was not, aside from finding out about this recreation of Amaurot, that eventful. When they were exploring Amaurot, Kiana felt herself longing even harder for a past that she was not fully aware of. It made her heart hurt more that she would have to fight against Emet-Selch, a man who by this point she realized she loved. Ryne and Alisaie were particularly sensitive to her emotions in the matter, trying to comfort her in anyway she could.Despite being a recreation or 'shade' of the true person, Kiana had grown quite fond of Hythlodaeus. He was fairly talkative about the past and her connection to them. It was through him, even if he wasn't straight forward with his messages, that she found out that Emet-Selch cared for her in a similar manner, if only for the connection to who she used to be.When he 'died' after the big fight, she felt heart broken and somewhat empty. It was the second time that she had lost someone she loved, even if this time it was by her own hand. She didn't have time to feel her growing depression, however.Elidibus' use of Ardbert's body so soon after her fight with Hades actually boiled her blood. It was possibly the angriest she could remember herself being aside from the blinding rage she felt for the Heavensward. The moment she saw him, she knew immediately that this was wrong. Not only was it the fact that his soul merged with hers during the fight, but smaller details set off red flags. While she mostly experienced his form in a soul like state: his axe was always bloodied and he had absolutely had stubble. Her ears were almost always pointed back when he was around and tail was stiff, not liking how he flaunted around pretending to be Ardbert. Her attitude changed a tiny bit towards the Ascian after finding out what had happened to him specifically... She was still angry with him and his actions, but she felt bad for him; although she figured it might have been connected to how her ancient self might have felt about him in her time...While Kiana knew G'raha's plan was likely to succeed in transferring his soul to his younger body, she was still scolding him the entire time he was using his powers beyond his limits. When he was on the verge of turning to crystal, she promised that they would see each other again. After checking on everyone, she soon found her way to check in on Raha. She ran the entire way from the Rising Stones to the Crystal tower... in high heels. Even she was surprised to not have twisted her ankle in the process. Initially when she found him, she would cling to him and have a good hard cry-- scolding him and telling him not to do something like that again. When she was bringing him back to the other Scions, she kept teasing him about how ridiculously long his hair had gotten. She absolutely could not believe the stunts that this 'Fandaniel' decided to pull. She was still feeling rather distraught over the situation with Hades, so to face up against him was just... a little too much a little too soon.

Endwalker under construction.Kiana was happy to be able to visit Old Sharlayan, something that seemed important to most of the Scions, but she was still seething about what the twins' father had done. Her heart still ached over losing Hades. The events with Fandaniel were still fresh. There were too many variables at play for her to truly enjoy anything about Old Sharlayan, though she let her friends and found family show her around nevertheless.
Kiana went to Thavnair with Urianger, Thancred, and Estinien first and was horrified by the aether sickness she experienced. As soon as she began feeling better, she scolded Estinien for his horrid spending habits. "I'm sure you made decent pay as Azure Dragoon, or perhaps Aymeric never said anything, but you cannot spend money like this in such a way!" (She understood when it was but a boy, but a merchant? No way!)
In her exploration of Thavnair, she remembered visiting with her parents when she was little. She didn't mention this to the others, too focused on the mission at hand. Perhaps, one day, she'll share it with the others.
Labyrinthos was an interesting visit... but the most memorable thing to her was when Y'shtola unexpectedly turned she and the twins into toads. Erenville interested her; curious about his gleaning ways as of her previous experience of living off of the land for so many years. His "If you mean to impersonate a toad, try studying the real thing. And don't try to fool an expert." absolutely sealed the deal in her wanting to befriend the viera, finding it absolutely hilarious.(more to come)Though Kiana had conflicting feelings about seeing Elidibus again, she did hold an awkward soft spot in regards to how Azem felt about him and the sadness that the man had experienced since the Final Days. She was thankful for his help, though her form when she arrived in the Unsundered Elpis was far from proper. Somewhere, deep within her being, she knew who the duo were before their eyes met her faded existence, even before Emet-Selch spoke. Occasionally experiencing dreams of her life as Azem, she would know their faces even if she didn't immediately recognize it.
There was a conflicting swirl of emotions in her chest, but she pushed them aside to get the job she had gone there to do done. The Emet-Selch she had fallen in love with had spent "a thousand thousand" of her lifetimes existing in her time. His heart was far more broken than this Emet-Selch. He still had her. He still had Azem. She knew it was unwise to be jealous of a being who no longer existed in her world, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at her unsundered self. Naturally, Hythlodaeus was drawn to Kiana as she was to him; having encouraged the rather gremlin like behavior Azem exhibited.
.
Briefly, when there was a lull in getting things done, Kiana and Hythlodaeus had a moment to speak candidly amongst one another. It was in this moment that she confessed how she felt about their mutual friend, Emet-Selch.
"May I ask why you look at Emet-Selch with such sadness, Kiana?" he would ask before bringing his hand up to give a soft chuckle. "I apologize, it's still a bit odd... I am not sure if he informed you, but Azem's true name is also Kiana. So, not only do you look just like her but sharing the same name? It is quite intriguing."
"Ah... Is it that obvious?" she would ask, giving a nervous laugh. Her gaze would turn towards Emet-Selch, watching him as he worked. Her ears drooped slightly. "As I said, I met... an older Emet... He... I..."
"You loved him?" he asked, putting a gentle hand on her back.
"How did you...?"
"I think it would be more unusual for you not to love him. Emet-Selch and Azem have bonded their very souls together... A truer sign of love I have never seen. It is only natural you feel a strong connection to him, seeing as you have her soul. Worry not, I will keep this our secret, but I would not be surprised if he felt the same for you. While you are not her, soul bonding or not... I have noticed he seems rather fond of you. Perhaps the years of loneliness forced him to guard himself from more loss, but... knowing how he is I cannot imagine he did not fall in love with you as well."
"That... That should be comforting but... I..." her lower lip trembled, eyes growing dewy with tears.
"Ah, my apologies," he would pull her into a gentle hug and rub her back. "I did not mean to upset you more..."
.
When the time came to confront Hermes, Kiana was prepared for whatever the outcome may be. What she was not prepared for was how she was sent away with Venat to leave Hermes, Hythlodaeus, and Emet-Selch behind. That smile... The same smile he gave her after their first on the first. Just as last time, Kiana didn't have the time to dwell on her emotions. There was something even bigger at hand, despite the heart break she felt. She was also mad at herself, letting her feelings for the man grow even stronger than before.
(more information to come)Though Kiana was thankful to Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus for bringing her loved ones back, the fact she had to see him disappear from her life a third time is something that she would never forgive. Should he deign to make an appearance in her life once more, it would take a lot for her to forgive him for how many times he had broken her heart.(apologies for lack of other Endwalker information; random inspiration struck and Elpis is a huge point in her story)
